Model Rocket

Co-founder CTO

Having operated as CTO and Architect from startups to large enterprise, we identified a need for a new model of software development. We provide the enthusiasm of a startup along with the experience and structure of a veteran software team. At ModelRocket we developed a methodology for quickly developing and deploying Full Stack applications in Cloud and Cloud Native environments such as AWS, GCP, Azure and Kubernetes. At ModelRocket we have brought several of our clients products to market including:

  • An Intelligent IoT Platform specifically tailored for environmental (air, water, soil) monitoring. We leveraged my background in Machine Learning, Cloud Infrastructure (using AWS) and Data Science to provide a toolset for agronomic analysis.

  • Advanced Human Body Measurement Platform using 3d sensors and mobile devices applied to Medicine, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Wear. This heavily mathematical product combines a wide array of technologies from 3d visualization, cloud based computations, microservices, and machine learning.

  • Clinical Trial Toolkit – A regulatory document management system used by universities and pharmaceutical companies to facilitate clinical studies.

  • Port several hosted SAAS applications from traditional datacenter applications to server-less architecture on AWS.

QWASI Inc.

CTO

At QWASI I lead a team of engineers in building a highly scalable, flexible, intelligent cloud based customer engagement and analytics platform. We processed tens of millions of transactions a daily across a variety of channels including application events, SMS, email, voice, Twitter and push notifications. We serviced dozens of major Retail, Finance, Healthcare, and Hospitality customers that have global deployments of the platform. We built smooth integrations with other systems and therefore our platform was used in a variety of use cases that even surprised us at times. The QWASI platform was named a Top Mobile Messaging Vendor by Forrester.

QWASI's platform is/was used globally by customers such as TD Ameritrade, Bank of America, Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s, QVC, Marriott and Starwood Hotels, Harvy Nichols Western Union, Domino’s, Krispy Kreme, Syniverse as well as thousands of medium and small businesses.

Jan 2010 - Sept 2016

Citrix Systems

Lead Architect

The Citrix Access Gateway became one of the worlds most widely deployed enterprise VPNs. At Citrix I worked in the Advanced Products Group developing prototypes and researching new product concepts for integration into many of the Citrix product lines. I also was a part of the Citrix Patent Comittee. Eventually I got the itch to launch another startup and started incubating Qwasi in my spare time, once we grew the revenue enough to go full time, I left Citrix and officially dove into Qwasi full time.

Dec 2004 - June 2011

Net6

Co-Founder

I co-founded Net6 with a few of my collegeus and friends from Lockheed. At Net6 we developed the worlds first Hybrid-VPN which lead us to be acquired by Citrix Systems – which became the Citrix Access Gateway.

Nov 2000 - Dec 2004

CTNY

Lead Developer

I spent a short period of time working as a Lead Developer at CTNY (Creative Technologies New York). This really was a stop gap position that I held after finishing my graduate work at Penn to pay the bills while we prepared to launch Net6.

Jan 2000 - Nov 2000

Lockheed Martin - Advanced Technology Labs

Member Engineering Staff

I began my career at Lockheed Martin’s Advanced Technologies Laboratories’ A.I. Lab working on mission critical, fault tolerant, artificial intelligence systems. ATL was such a great place to start my career. Not only did I get the opportunity to work with some really smart people, but it provided the perfect environment to grow as a developer, and work on some really interesting projects. I worked on Naval electronic warefare AI, high performance radar classification algorithms, battlefield intelligent mobile agent systems that could remotely execute code, just to name a couple.

Interests

Apart from being an entrepenuer, engineer, and geek at heart, I enjoy being a husband to my beautiful wife, and father to my four children. At least every other summer I go off the grid and fish in Northwest Ontario with my dad, brothers and son. I love playing basketball and am an avid fan of the game. Even though my competitive basketball days are behind me, I still try to play a couple times a week.

Publications and Patents

I've got a bunch of Publications and Patents, but thats all kind of boring. If you really want to know visit my LinkedIn.
